It's been fun decorating for fall this year.
I've been feeling more inspired and in to the season than in the past!
I always do holidays as simply as I can- I don't typically buy a lot of new stuff, but really try incorporate what I've got at home, or I've used in the past.
Last year I did a little bit of a re-fresh / new stuff, because what I had was minimal.
I always go back and forth on using fresh vs. faux. I think fresh always looks best and richer, but I also hate putting all the cash into something that gets thrown away in a couple months.
This year I did a mix.
I used an ironstone footed dish as my base for the white pumpkin.
I assembled all the things that say 'fall' to me- chilly walks and pinecone collecting; the pumpkin patch season; grape harvesting and grape stomping (the wreath); and the bounty and warmth of
enjoying good food with family and friends (the wheat and candles).
I am still loving the fall garland that I made a couple years ago from vintage sheet music.
I always like having something festive on the hearth. Some mums in a metal bucket sit on a beautiful cane and carved wood foot stool.
I've seen so many good vintage pieces come and go this year, and I've been keeping a few more pieces just for me recently. The foot stool is definitely a keeper.
