I love how some of the painting projects I do evolve from one idea into something totally different than what I had planned.
I went to an awesome estate sale last week and found several things.
One was this little table.
I loved the carved inset legs, and the size.
I brought it home, and set it on top of a dresser in the garage.
The top had some lovely parquet and insets.

Lately, I've really been enjoying a two tone look- some natural wood, and some paint.
That's what I'll do, I thought.
The legs would get a nice touch of paint, and the top would stay natural. But when I got it down to work on, I noticed that the legs were in better condition than the top!
It was stained, scratched, and lifting.
And the little middle section was off!

Ok, so leave the legs natural, and the top painted.....
...but after doing that, it looked funny.
So I washed the legs in the gray.
Love it!
Now you can see the pattern of the wood without all of the flaws.

I also made up some chalkboards from two frames I bought at the same sale.
I've been lucky to find several of these recently that have the linen border inset.
The black and white ribbon stripe is the hanger for the boards- I just drilled a couple holes and tied them off. Different and fun.

The chalkboards are both in my booth now at Aunt Bee's, and the little side table will be coming to the parking lot sale there on August 19.
More projects on the horizon! I'm keeping busy getting things ready to restock for my Etsy shop, the parking lot sale, and the Deepwood Vintage Market in September.

That table has the cutest legs! And gray was the perfect color choice. Love the pretty chalkboards too!

I love what you did with this sweet table and how the wood grain is showing through. Don't you just love finding pieces with great bones? Wonderful repurpose with the picture frame and the ribbon really adds so much charm.
