Sorry for my absence recently!
I meant to have a couple other posts up over the last few days, but it's been one of those times where I feel like I am spinning my wheels.
I meant to have a couple other posts up over the last few days, but it's been one of those times where I feel like I am spinning my wheels.
A few weeks ago I picked up this little coffee table. I just loved the detailing on the legs and it's simple elegance.
While I was debating what color to paint it, I came across one of my inspiration pictures for my living room. This table caught my eye:
I loved the gray undertones and the gold overlay.
This really got my creative juices flowing and thinking about something different than what I've done in the past.

Then I got my gold wax (also known as Rub N Buff Antique Gold)
Rubbing the wax on in a circular motion looked better than rubbing in straight lines.
I added a bit of dark and clear wax to the top, and then embellished with a
bit more Duck Egg and gold paint.
bit more Duck Egg and gold paint.
This is completely different from anything else I've done before, but I really like the old world elegance of the gray and gold together.
Here was the before:
You can see how scratched up and chipped the surface was here.
And after:
I will be taking this little beauty down to Aunt Bee's this afternoon!
