glass knobs and farmhouse shelving

Happy Friday!
We have so much to do today.  Tomorrow night is our party with Group, and I have all of my grocery shopping and last minute stuff to get.
I can't wait to share the recipe with you next week, and show you the table scape!

Last night we were able to install part of the shelving and the glass knobs on the cabinet / buffet.
I'm not really sure what to call it at this point.
Buffet sounds too formal, cabinet sounds too ordinary.
Maybe it's a caffet?  Or a buffinet?
Hmmm.....  ;)

We only installed one set of brackets last night.  My poor hubby was so tired, and working with wall anchors is probably on the bottom of his list of "favorite things to do on any given day".
I still have another coat of paint to put on the shelves, but we were excited to see what it will look like.
There will be one more set of brackets and a shelf going above the one you see here.

I found the glass pulls I was looking for!  These came from Lowe's.  The three of these cost almost as much as the cabinet itself!!! But I think they really add the needed sparkle.  Love them!

The brackets are from Ikea.  They had white ones, but the size I needed seemed to be out of stock. I liked the look of these better, but they were black, so I spray painted them white.  An extra step in this process, but I got exactly what I wanted!  :)
These are the 11" Ekby Valstar.  I need to paint over the screw heads once these are installed, but I am loving the look.
Can't wait to get some goodies on the shelves!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!  I look forward to showing you some more fun stuff next week!

  1. Lookin' good! We call ours a "sideboard" - how does that sound to you? :)

  2. It's looking good, so far. I'm wanting to paint some pieces in my dark dining room, so this is inspiration for me. AND I have almost the exact chandelier, original to our 1921 house.

  7. Love the glass knobs, it really adds the sparkle! :) We call our "sideboard" the "white thing". Even growing up we had "the white thing" off the kitchen. Very informal!
